The competition encouraged innovators to contribute to the success of our societies and helps organizations stay competitive, especially when resolving critical problems. The participating teams worked around areas of product, process, service, and social innovation pertaining to sustainability and delivered a pitch of the developed idea in the form of a business plan. One of the key outcome was to identify the best ideas with a strong, sustainable, and feasible business plan with Minimum Viable
Product (MVP).
Two teams from Westford University College participated with one team pitching the idea of ‘CARENEXUS’ – an AI powered Healthcare app that helps track mental health with the help of vocal biomarkers. The second team pitched the idea of ‘Iris’ – A novel technology embedded into a smart pair of glasses targeting the hearing impaired.
Both the ideas, presented in the form of a Business Canvas Model bagged the first position and 3rd position, respectively. Other participating and winning teams included the likes of Amity University Dubai, New Horizon College of Engineering, M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Management, UTM,Malaysia,Middle East College, Oman, and Tellakula Jalayya Polisetty Somasundaram College, India. To watch them fill the room with excitement, zest and bring home the winning title of 1st and 3rd positions was an absolute moment of pride!

Skyline innovators pitch was one of the most memorable competitions I’ve been a part of. To go and compete against the biggest international universities was a huge achievement in itself. But to even bag the first position just made things so much better. It gave us a confidence boost for many more competitions to come. The care nexus app that we pitched is probably the need of the hour and we firmly believe in the idea. A few years down the line, this can become a reality.
