On May 10, 2023, students from the BA (Hons) Media, Culture, and Communication course got the amazing chance to visit CNN Dubai. This trip not only introduced them to the dynamic world of media creation but also provided them with the opportunity to meet and learn from Caroline Faraj, Vice President of CNN and Editor in Chief of CNN Arabia.
CNN, known as the Cable News Network, is a global leader in news coverage and an authoritative source of information for millions around the world. The CNN Dubai bureau is an integral part of the network’s international operations, playing a crucial role in covering news and events across the Middle East and beyond.
Upon entering the CNN Dubai bureau, the students were immediately immersed in the bustling atmosphere of a newsroom. With the screens displaying live news updates, journalists immersed in their stories and the authentic media environment helped students witness firsthand how news is created, curated and disseminated to its audience.
In their interaction Caroline Faraj, the VP of CNN and Editor in Chief, CNN Arabia, Dr Faraj shared her journey, providing invaluable advice and guidance to students.
