celebrate their student's fantastic achievements in person at a formal felicitation ceremony “La
Reussite”, held at Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai on Feb-27-2022.

The Class of 2020/2021 demonstrated incredible tenacity and resilience as they forged ahead with
their studies at the very beginning of the pandemic. We understand the importance of recognizing
the completion of their studies and marking this occasion in a way that acknowledges the hard work
and perseverance shown in finishing their degree. Now that circumstances permit, we decided to
honor the students that persevered despite obstacles with a physical felicitation ceremony.
The LJMU-WUC felicitation ceremony saw the graduates of 2020/21 take to the stage with Dr.Elena
Teso, head of International Partnerships and a senior faculty, LJMU, and Dr.Katie Hyslop, Senior
Faculty LJMU conferring awards to the 57 students across 30 nationalities. The other dignitaries
were Firoz Tharinil, Founder & CEO of Westford Education Group, Hanil Haridas, Co-founder &
CEO of Westford University College, and Anil Ahluwalia, Academic Director, Westford Education
Group. The students represented the University's three faculties of Management: International
Business, Finance, and Marketing.
Ms. Sharmila Subrahmaniam, course leader, LJMU commenced the ceremony by announcing the
names of the graduates. It was an emotional moment for two students that were honored as 2020
and 2021 valedictorians. The day, signposting the significant milestone in all of the students’ lives,
was full of tears of relief, laughter, and joy, as they look forward to the next part of their journey. For
staff and tutors, it was an enjoyable reminder of what their hard work enables for so many people.
The atmosphere was electric.
