During their tour to ITP Media Group, students from the Media and Fashion Design programme had an exciting time while also learning about the publishing and production procedures used by each magazine and digital brand within the company. The ITP team extended a hearty welcome to students, instructors, and staff. The students were given a thorough tour of the ITP Media Group’s offices, which included an in-depth look at the editorial process, printing and distribution processes, and digital content generation.
Ms. Alison Tay, Editor-in-Chief of Grazia Middle East, opened the discussion by outlining the flow of the industry trip and what to anticipate from the ITP team. Students were separated into three groups and given a tour of various departments and offices of several publishing companies.
One of the highlights of the excursion was viewing a fashion campaign shoot and speaking with the individuals involved with the production about their experiences as fashion stylists, photographers, and creative directors. Another key component of the tour was learning about the time-consuming and creative process of producing written, editorial, and internet content.
The excursion concluded with Mr. Bethoven Filomeno, Westford Media Faculty, moderating a panel discussion with Ms. Alison Tay, Editor-in-Chief of Grazia Middle East, Ms. Laura Brown, Fashion Editor Luxury Group of Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, and Ms. Monique Spearman, Editorial Assistant at GQ Middle East.
The discussion centred on the region’s diversified fashion and lifestyle scene, as well as the different events and activities that contribute to the country’s arts, culture, and economic worth. Students enjoyed an experience that was useful, and meaningful, along with learning from industry professionals and a one-on-one interaction receiving advice and support as they follow their passion becoming future media and fashion practitioners and industry movers and shakers.
