In collaboration with Abertay University UK, the MBA Decoded: Leadership and Research Bootcamp was created particularly for Westford students who are enrolled in Master of Business Administration programs.
This workshop and the resources of the bootcamp were designed to prepare individuals for leadership and management responsibilities and help them thrive in a team setting. The bootcamp is meant to provide MBA students with the skills and information needed to conduct research and analysis, as well as help them enhance their leadership talents. Participants will obtain a better grasp of the necessity of successful leadership and research in today’s corporate environment through interactive discussions and practical activities. The program presented participants with an intensive course that gave an overview of popular management topics that are not generally taught in a research setting.
The 1-day student orientation featured exercises in actual business cases, training for preparation on business presentations and consulting practices, and a leadership and unique team-building project – all of which took place on February 25, 2022, at Westford’s Al Zahia Campus in Sharjah. Prof. Alastair Irons, Deputy Principal and Deputy Vice Chancellor of Abertay University commenced the program’s first session on Cybersecurity. The workshop focused on the risks connected with cyber security and how organizations may safeguard their data from cyberattacks.
Mona Golshun, Senior Manager, Aster DM Healthcare, a UCAM DBA Candidate at Westford, delivered the second session, identifying Research Gaps in the industry. The seminar focused on how identifying industry research gaps may help firms enhance their product and service o‑erings. Mr. Zawahir Siddique, Dean of Westford University College, presented the third session, Leadership and Team Building Activity. Mr. Siddique engaged the attendees and provided practical insights on successful leadership and team development through a variety of interactive activities and case studies. The workshop was well-received by the attendees, who expressed their appreciation for the beneficial learning experience.
The program ended with a Research Simulation Activity facilitated by Dr. Arpita Mehrotra – Assistant Dean & Dr. Bindu Nair – Senior Faculty, at Westford University College. This activity emphasized an interactive learning experience that allowed participants to explore the research process and gain a better understanding of how to develop a research question, identify relevant sources, evaluate information, and draw conclusions. The highly interactive MBA Decoded program allowed students to obtain practical experience in a real-world context while also allowing them to concentrate on a certain area of business. By combining academic knowledge with hands-on experience, students are better equipped to thrive in their future employment and current roles.

Attending the BootCamp with delegates from Abertay was a great experience. The opportunity to learn from experts in the field and network with other professionals can be invaluable. Collaborating with others to solve problems and complete tasks would have also been a rewarding experience. Overall, the BootCamp provided a comprehensive learning experience and a chance to develop practical skills that can be applied in various industries.
